Hull, Isaac
(9 mar. 1773, Derby, Conn., EE.UU.–13 feb. 1843, Filadelfia, Pa.).

Oficial de marina estadounidense. Sobrino de William Hull, a los 19 años ya era patrón de un barco. En 1798 recibió el grado de teniente a bordo del USS Constitution, y llegó a ser su comandante en 1810. Se destacó en la guerra naval no declarada con Francia en ese tiempo y en la guerra de Tripolitania (1801–1805). En los inicios de la guerra anglo-estadounidense (1812) atacó a la fragata británica Guerrière y, después de una batalla encarnizada, la dejó arruinada. Se le reconoció como uno de los comandantes más capaces de la marina y su buque recibió el apodo de "Viejo acorazado. Estuvo al mando de los escuadrones de EE.UU. en el Pacífico (1824–27) y en el Mediterráneo (1839–41).
